Circe offers Odysseus the cup

from $10.00

Day 18 of Froguary!

Inspired by John Williams Waterhouse’s masterpiece “Circe Offers the Cup to Odysseus”, this painting offers a reimagined version of the classic scene. Why was this needed? It wasn’t. Is it an abomination? Maybe. But it’s hilarious all the same. Here, Frog Circe offers a flower cup to frog Odysseus, who can be seen in the reflection of the mirror behind her. On her throne are cats, and scuttling at her feet are Wattle Pig Beetle’s- obviously the cursed members of Odysseus’ crew. Waterhouse and Homer would be ashamed. But. It seems I have no shame. You know you love her.
